Low bed semi trailer Specification
1. Scope
It is the intent of the specifications to describe a diesel engine driven, hydraulically controlled, tandem drive low loader for transportation of excavator and bulldozer with ramps for loading having a load capacity of minimum 48,000kg.
The truck with the low-bed trailer shall be suitable for continuous operation in tropical condition requirement here in and very rough terrain as well as dusty & sandy area.
All items to be fully assembled with the entire necessary fittings and attachments & tested ready for immediate use.
Due consideration will be given for bids which provide interchanging of parts between models.
2. Engine
2.1 General
The diesel engine shall perform smoothly and efficiently under all conditions of operation described part I- General Requirement and shall develop the rated horsepower when operating on commercial diesel fuel with sulpher content of 1% catenae number of 45

2.2 Type
Four cycle, water-cooled, direct injection, diesel driven, turbo charged, preferably
wet type cylinder sleeves/liners.
2.3 Horse Power
The Engine shall deliver minimum 350 HP. SAE J1349 net as flywheel at rated RPM, Equipped with fuel pump, cooling fan, heavy duty radiator, lubricating oil pump, air cleaner, alternator,& any other required engine accessories.
2.4 Lubrication system
●Full force-feed type and gear driven pump.
●Full flow & by-pass cartridge filters.
●Oil pup protected with strainer.
●Equipped with oil cooler.

3.1 Fuel Tank
●Properly ventilated, protected both internally & externally from corrosion and under side is guarded.
●Adequate capacity to operate machine for at least 10 hours continuous operation.
●Made from repairable steel.
●Equipped with oil cooler.
●Tank filler shall contain strainer.
●Tank cap shall be lockable type.

3.2. Injection Pump
●Mechanically driven with all necessary regulatory & controlling attachment. or
●Unit direct injection type, individual monitored high-pressure injection pumps (injector).

3.3. Injectors
Injectors shall be accessible, interchangeable and readily removable.
3.4. Fuel Filters
Minimum two in series.
3.5. Water separator
Installed in the diesel supply system & also retain rust, metal chips &  dirt particles

4. Cooling system
●Tropicalized, closed pressurized, pump forced type water medium with ample capacity.
●Incorporate efficient tropicalzed thermostat.
●All the cooling system heat exchangers shall be independent of one another i.e the removal of the engine cooler (for repair) should not affect the hydraulic oil cooler.
4.1. Radiator
●Tropicalized, heavy-duty, equipped with core protection grill.
●Upper and lower channels/tanks as well as core shall be made from brass and/ or copper of repairable type.
●Equipped with altitude compensator.

4.2. Cooling Fan
●Direct drive
●Guarded and driven by belt
5. Air cleaner
●Heavy-duty, two stage dry type.
●Fitted with a cyclone pre-cleaner.
●Fitted with automatic dust evacuator.
●Fitted Dust indicator with restriction gauge/indicator
6. Electrical System
●Composed of but not be limited 24v direct electric starting, charging and lighting systems, electronic voltage regulator, electric switches & two keys etc.
● All wiring shall be colored, number coded & enclosed in non-metallic loom.
●Electrical system Type, make, model and capacity should be described
6.1. Starting System
●An electric motor shall start the engine satisfactorily at temperatures as low as 0 0c without recourse to any auxiliary or starting device, glow plugs, or fluid priming system required.
●Reduction type having sufficient cranking power.
●Indicate the starter motor capacity.
6.2. Alternator
●Heavy-duty fan ventilated.
●Rated capacity ……….. Min. 24V/50 Amp
6.3. Batteries
●24V in series and each 100AH (minimum) at 20 hours rating.
●Mounted at a convenience place in a metal box provided with hold down device, located so as to provide easy for serving & proper cushion shall be provided for battery seat.

6.4. Lighting System
Light shall comply vehicular traffic regulations, which shall consist of but not limited to:
●Back up light with audible alarm.
●Turns signals with emergency 4 way flashers
●Work lights
●Two lights with stop and tail lights.
●Cab interior Light
●Panel lights
6.5. Over Lead Protection
Fuses, circuit breakers or equal protection against damage of short circuits shall adequately protect all electrical circuits.
7. Clutch
The clutch shall be of the heavy duty of adequate size and plate capacity to assure long life under severe operating conditions as described under service requirements. The input torque capacity for The clutch as rated by the manufacture shall be less than 10% In excess of that maximum net torque developed by the engine.
8. Transmission
The transmission shall be heavy duty of manual and shall have a minimum of eight speeds forward and one reverse speed and shall be a combination of constant-mesh synchromesh type preferably fully synchromesh in all speeds.
The maximum road speed of the vehicle shall preferably be within the range of 80-90Km/Hr.

9. Steering
The truck shall be equipped with left hand steering. Hydraulic power assisted steering system is required. In event of hydraulic failure, truck shall be safely controlled by manual effort. Means shall be provided for easy adjustment of lost motion in the steering gear.
Power steering pump shall be gear drive directly mounted to the engine.  
10. CAB
The cab shall be all steel construction with dust, heat and weatherproof windows and clear view window of toughened glass, with accommodation for the driver and two passengers.
The cab shall be of all steel welded construction of the manufacture’s standard material, forward control type. It shall be equipped with heater/ defroster, ashtray, cigar lighter radio cassette player.

10.1 Instrument panel and control
Instrument panel and control shall include but not be limited to:-
●Panel lighting
●Speedometer with odometer calibrated in kilometers/hr.
●Tachometer
●Water temperature gauge/indicator (audible warning light for engine over heating)
●Ammeter or charging indicator light
●Lighting switches
●Oil filter element clogging indicator
●Fuel gage
●Air cleaner restriction gauge/indicator
●Oil pressure gauge with warning signal

●Cab safety lock hatch indicator
●Windshield wiper control
●Engine over-running warning device
●Inter axle lock switch
●Air pressure gauge/low air pressure warning signal and other required accessories for proper and efficient operation of truck.

10.2 Seats and Sleeper
●Driver’s seat shall be of spring suspension type, cloth covered with water repellent, and shall be fully adjustable and reclaimable back
●Co-drivers seat shall also be upholstered and all seats has be installed with seat belts
●The cab shall be equipped with sleeper bank at rear of seat.

10.3 Door locks
Both doors shall locked from inside, and at least one shall locked from the outside, preferably with same key as used in the starting switch.

10.4 Glass
All glass in the cab for windshields and windows; shall be of the laminated plate type know as safety glass, and shall be free from imperfection or obvious distortions.
10.5 sun visors
Two of three adjustable interior sun visors shall be installed in the cab in accordance to the manufacturer’s standard practice.
10.6 mirrors
Large articulated external rear view mirrors shall be installed to both left and right hand side of the vehicle. They shall be properly located as to give the driver a clear view of the high way through each mirror for a distance at least sixty meters.
11. Chassis frame
The chassis frame shall be of heavy duty construction and capable of with standing the strain of rigorous on and off the road surface and shall provide worth adequate number of cross members, so designed and constructed as in support the GVW of the vehicle with its evenly distributed load. Chassis frame rails shall not project beyond the rear end of the mounted distributor body.

12.0 AXLES AND SUSPENSION
12.1 AXLES
The truck shall be equipped with heavy-duty from and rear axles. The axle capacity rating shall be at least to the gross load imposed at the ground when the vehicle in evenly loaded to its rated G.V.W
12.1.1 Front  Axle
The front axle shall be by heavy duty “I – beam” construction mounted on heavy-duty springs with extra heavy-duty shock absorbers. All spindles,
Kingpins, thrust bearings and wheel bearing shall be properly sized & matched with this axle rating.
The front axle rated capacity [designed capacity]. Shall be min. 10 tons.
12.1.2 Tandem Rear axel
The tandem rear axle shall be of the full oscillating and full floating type with hub-reduction. The torque-input capacity of this axle shall exceed the total engine torque developed through the lowest interviewing gear reduction.
The tandem axle rated capacity [design capacity] shall not be less than 39 tons
12.2 Suspension
Heavy-duty semi-elliptical front springs & extra heavy-duty rear springs with adequate number of leaves of leaves to sustain smooth operation of the fully loaded truck shall be provided.
12.3  Shock Absorbers
Extra heavy-duty double acting, telescopic shock absorber of adequate size and capacity shall be mounted at each side of the chassis.
13. BUMPERS
Manufacture’s standard heavy-duty steel bumper shall be installed on the front chassis. The bumper shall span the complete width of the chassis frame.
14. WHEES & TIRES
14.1 wheels
The truck shall be equipped with single front and dual rear, preferably triplex type wheels. All wheels and rims shall be interchangeable and compatible with the tire size.
14.2 Tire
Tires shall be of 12.00 x 20 – 16PR, heavy duty on off highway type, with heavy-duty tubes and flaps shall be provided, and shall be mounted on each wheel. All Tires shall be of the same size, type and load range. A spare tire, tube and wheel shall be furnished and shall be installed on a strong lockable carrier.
15. Wheel Base
The tandem wheelbase be greater than 1300mm.
16. Fifth Wheel
●The fifth wheel shall be of a heavy duty, oscillating type, both laterally and longitudinally, with 3.5 king pin.
●The fifth wheel lock or bracket arrangements must be able to resiliently absorb the forces that occur during coupling.
17. Mud Guards
Heavy-duty steel mudguards with rubber flaps, on both sides of the tandem axle, and on the rear size of the front shall be furnished.
18. towing Device
The Vehicle shall be equipped with two towing device hook-ups at front and rear of the chassis mounted with frame reinforcement as required for proper mounting.
19. Service Brakes
Service brakes shall be of the wheel dual system air type, with brake drums, located at each wheel, and manually adjusted preferably be S-cam type brake shoe; brake shall be of the air mechanical type. Brake diaphragm shall be mounted at each wheel in such manner that no parts of the brake chamber or diaphragm projects below the axles.
●The service brakes shall be capable of controlling and holding the full loaded trick on a 30% grade.
●The brakes shall be capable of consistently bringing the fully loaded truck to complete stop within 12 meters from a speed of 32 km/hr on hard, dry level road free from lose material.
19.2 Parking Brake
The parking brake shall be hand operated mechanical type and capable of holding the fully loaded truck in an either forward or reverse on a 20% grade. Parking brakes should be independent of the service brake: however, it may be connected to the rear brake shoes through entirely separated mechanical means.
19.3 Engine Brake
Manufacture’s standard an air operated engine brake with an operating switch located within the driver’s reach be installed
19.4 Warning Device
An audible and visual low-air operated engine device shall be installed in the cab of the vehicle. The device shall active when the air pressure drops below the limit specified by the manufacturer.
19.5 Brake Lines
All brake lines be substantially supported, and protected from abrasion where necessary by covering with non-metallic loom. Brake hoses leading form the truck to the trailer shall be equipped with standard type truck tractor fittings and mounted in accordance SAE and/or ISO practice.

19.6 Trailer Brake Valve
A hand operated independent control shall be incorporated to act on the trailer brakes. Control shall be installed in the cab with in easy reach of the driver
20. Under coating
The frame, under structure of the truck and under side of the hood shall be covered with suitable under coating to protect the vehicle against corrosion and rust.buy Semi Trailer
